First time TTC and I have PCOS. Anyone else out there? Because of the PCOS I am not Oing so the dr is wanting me to try Clomid. I have heard Clomid symptoms are a lot like PMS. Anyone out there that can share their experience? Did you use Clomid by itself and/or use trigger shots like ovideral? Any info would be great.

Hi I'm jen, one of the co-hosts.

I don't have PCOS but I did use clomid and s hcg trigger with iui. Clomid side effects can be rough - most commonly headaches, insomnia, hot flushes, wacky emotions. It does differ from woman to woman though.

There are a couple of ladies on this board with PCOS but you could also try the ttc with PCOS board. Good luck!

I have PCOS and have taken 2 rounds of clomid. I do not have AF on my own so I have to take progesterone to jump start a period and the progesterone is way worse than the clomid. I don't really notice a whole lot of side effects from clomid other than I can get a little crabby. The progesterone makes me feel aweful, makes my face break out in the worst way, weight gain, bloating, and hateful. I just try to remember that when I finally get a BFP it will all be worth it! Good luck!

I have "PCOS tendencies" which means I'm kind of borderline on diagnosis. It looks like I'll be using Clomid for an IUI in a few months, and it looks like you're right about the symptoms being similar to PMS. I've heard lots of women get pregnant on it though!

Kpinki~ well I agree the progesterone seems to mess with me more than the Clomid. The progesterone makes my breasts engorge and makes me feel blah. Nothing like big, sore boobs and blahness. Clomid did not effect me the days I took it but around my O day I felt PMS like. I find out this week if I did O or noton round one KMFX.
