So I've been trying to track my ovulation since August with no success. I always give up around day 20. We bought the clear blue easy fertility monitor and it says I ovulated on day 24. My periods are regular so I should start on day 32. Aren't you supposed to ovulate halfway through your cycle? Will this decrease our chances of getting pregnant? I hear people talk about the two week wait but mine would be the 9 day wait

Where can I learn more about ovulation?

It is very rare if you ovulate half way through.

The average is cd12-16 here in the UK but I ovulate CD8-10 and a friend of mine ovulates between 21-25. Both of these have achieved full term pregnancies.

Have you tried using OPK? These are very cheap of the internet and with the help of the girls here, you can establish when your surge is by sharing a photo of the results.

Good luck and I hope your time on this board is short. x

The time between when you ovulate and when you get AF should be about the same each cycle, but the time between af and ovulation can differ drastically and ovulation definitely isn't always halfway through. When I ovulate it has been on CD20 but then I only have about 12/13 days between ovulation and AF. Or you could do the opposite and ovulate on CD8 and then have a 16 day LP.

If your LP is only 9 days you might have a LP defect which could cause a problem getting pregnant. Implantation can be from 8-12DPO so if your LP is only 9 days your lining could shed before the egg has had a chance to implant. You need to see this happen a few months in a row before it's seen as a problem, and if it does then there are steps you can take to help lengthen it.

Good luck!

Thanks Bokkechick for my wonderful siggy!
