I have only used OPKs one cycle and of course it was the cycle I didn't O on.. so I'm wondering when I should start using them this cycle... I don't want to waste a whole bunch like last time.. so I'm not sure.. I know some people say the day after your AF ends.. so should I wait and see how my CM is?? last time I had a lot of W and EWCM .. so I don't know!! Also, what time of the day should I test? I was going to try to test when I get home from work (between 5-7pm) that way if it's positive then I can get DH to BD. lol but I know it can change within hours.. so I don't know!

Personally I don't start testing until CD10. The first couple of days you can test 2 times a day. Mid morning and evening are really good times for testing early on. For me my tests get darker gradually, so as they start getting a little darker I will test 3 times a day morning, afternoon and evening. Honestly it took a couple of cycles to get the process down to a science for myself, so you may have some trial and error as you go.

thank you! i'm hoping I will just get my DH to BD every other day starting at the day after AF until my temps show that I've o'ed so I don't have to rely on the OPKs that much.. lol or I'm hoping that my OPKs are just really dark and i can figure it out.. because last cycle.. since I didn't o and I used so many opk an they never changed at all it was so hard to tell

I start using them the day af ends around 2-4pm. Once I get closer to O day I start doing two a day. I use FMU and then I test again around 4. I actually got a really strong positive with FMU and a negative later on in the day.

Do you have the ICs or the more expensive ones? If you don't have the ICs I'd suggest getting some of them so it's not as expensive. The ones I get are $17 for 50 plus they come with 20 HPTs. I usually start using them once a day after I've taken Clomid for a few days, but that's obviously not going to help you. I think that's usually about CD8. Since you don't know what this cycle is going to be like it's better to use them earlier than miss it, you know? Of course BD'ing every two days will cover your bases if you do miss your surge. If you get to like CD30 and haven't O'd yet you might should consider making another doctor appointment. Possibly with a new doctor since yours doesn't seem that helpful. Of course I hope that's not necessary!

Thanks ladies. I do have some ICs left over from last cycle.. but i'm not sure how many.. I had 50 or 60 and I went through a LOT lol I did get some coupons for FRER opks so I will get a few boxes of them first.. since I don't think I will get any ICs in time.. I figure I will start the day after I end AF and just hope I don't miss it.
