My husband (25) & I (24) have been trying for a year at the end of this month to get pregnant. I've been through three rounds of Clomid, which failed obviously, and countless blood work... All of which showed I have low progesterone. My OB hasn't done any other tests or suggested any. I don't feel like he's doing all he can to ease my mind or help figure out what's going on.

So, I'm wondering what you ladies think should be my next step. The disappointment is starting to become unbearable and its taking a toll on him as well.. Sorry for the vent, I just need advice and suggestions please.

Hope all of you are well and good luck to all of you!*!*!*

Hello. For starters welcome to the board!

I also have done 3 rounds of clomid that did not result in a pregnancy. I did have ovulation verified via blood test and OPKs.

Did your doctor do blood work to find out if you did indeed ovulate?

If you did ovulate I will tell you what my doctor's nurse suggested as the next step for myself and DH. That is for DH to have an semen analysis.

Supposedly I ovulated, according to a positive OPK, but no blood work was done due to the doctor's office didn't tell me a date to come in and since my cycles had been irregular the days for blood work prior had all been different? And the time got away from me, so I didn't call ahead to verify either...

Thank you for responding!!!

If your insurance will cover specialist care.. I would go ahead and start talking to one.. but if it doesnt.. you OB should be able to figure out via blood if you did indeed ovulate.. i would also suggest a SA..

Thanks Tasha for my Blinkie!!

Are you taking progesterone after O? I'd think that would be the next step if you know your progesterone is low. SA's are also a good thing to do. Unfortunately it could also just take some time. I know you've been trying a year, but you only have about a 20% chance each cycle so if you've only O'd three times you just might not have been lucky yet. Since you have been trying so long you should be able to get a referral to an RE if you don't think your OB is being proactive enough. Good luck!

Thanks Bokkechick for my wonderful siggy!

Tiffany I'm in the same boat I'm currently on my 2nd cycle of Clomid and I did a progesterone test after my first cycle and it showed I'm ovulating my level was 15.04 which is good.

Your doc needs to do a blood test to see if the Clomid is even making you ovulate or not. How many milligrams are you on? I'm on 50mg usually after 3 months of no success they will bump you up to a high dose. Good luck!
