I don't know if anoyne is going to have a good answer to this, but I had a miscarriage at 7 weeks in July. I am now 6 weeks pregnant, trying not to stress and have done everything different this time to try to avoid any complication. Is there a time when I can feel safe?? I hear after 8 weeks is pretty safe, but I know it can happen just about any time. I just want some peace of mind I guess.

Im so sorry for your loss. I think its different for everyone hun. I know once I got past my loss date i felt better, then every ultrasound that was good. Youll just have to set mini goals for yourself and baby. Just try to enjoy it instead of being scared itll happen again.

Its totally normal to be scared though.

Welcome and Congrats! I'm glad you found us here. These women are amazing. I'm not sure when you will feel safe. My m/c was at 7w3d. Although I felt a little better after that point, I still get scared. We will help you though this.

Well, doctors say that your chances of miscarrying go down dramatically after you hear/see the heartbeat. I don't know how accurate that is, but I know it is a hurdle that always made me feel better. Then, the next one is 12 weeks, then you have another big drop. I am sure you have heard this all before though. As far as feeling better, I started feeling better after my loss dates, and then felt really confident when I hit the 2nd trimester. However, can't say the doubt ever leaves you. I am sitting here right now sweating it out doing my kick count because Hayden has been so lazy today. I get SO nervous still!

hello and welcome to the board !!
I am very sorry for your loss....

I don't know if we ever really feel TOTALLY safe after a loss, no matter how many weeks we are, or when the heartbeat is found.
things do get easier with every passing day & week....that is true. Enjoy every day you , and try not to stress too much...
with every pregnancy milestone and symptom, you will breathe a little easier.

Congratulations !!

I agree with setting mini goals, that's what I have to do. I lost my Cora at the end, so it just gets worse for me. Right now my "goal" is the 3rd trimester (which is a little over a week away!) Then 30 weeks, then 34, then 36 and then 38. I've never made it further than 38, so we'll see what happens with this one...
Thanks to babydoll213 for the siggy! My kids' blog Cora's blog

After reading all of your replies I am amazed at how common this is, and for those of you that have experienced multiples losses, I pray that you have wonderful, healthy babies and that you do not have to go through another loss. My heart goes out to those of you who carried to term, only to experience a loss at that point. I can't imagine it, but I admire your strength to continue trying and posting here.

I have my first sono next week, will keep in touch with you ladies and hope you will keep me posted on your progress as well.

Congratulations on your pregnancy Amy!!

I think the best thing to do is to set small milestones. For me my first milestone was 8 weeks (to pass my first three losses), then 10, then 11, and so on. Once I hit my second trimester my next milestone is to feel the baby move so I've targeted 16 weeks LOL. It helped me to have a doppler at home and be able to listen to the babies heartbeat every day.
