So my history-
I have one boy, live birth, almost 3 years old. When he was about a year old, I got pregnant with his sister and had a stillbirth due to a cord accident around 26 weeks. I got pregnant immediately after and the baby had Down Syndrome. Then, after 6 months of waiting, I miscarried at 6 weeks. So I've been through a lot.

I'm pregnant again (it seems we have little trouble actually _getting_ pregnant) and I went in for a 6 week scan. The baby was very small, what you would expect to see at 5 weeks, so the OB set me up for another scan in a week. It is possible that I conceived later than I think, especially as I didn't get a good strong positive until 17 days past ovulation.

Meanwhile, I'm feeling pregnant. My boobs are sore, I'm occasionally nauseous and have indigestion. Is this a good sign?

Has anyone had a similar situation with positive outcomes?
Thanks,
Susan

I don't have a similar situation, but I would think that since you didn't get a solid + until 17 dpo you either ovulated a bit later than you thought, or perhaps implanted late. Your symptoms sound promising. I don't know how up to date the ultrasound machine was, but the one at my OB's office measures within +/- 1 week.

Hugs.....I am very sorry for your losses and for the long journey you have had.

From what you have said, I think it is very possible that you ovulated late, and that your bean is growing just fine. I can't wait to hear about your next scan next week. I hope time flies by for you until then.

Thanks ladies. I hope you are all right and I will see a growing little bean next week. I'll let you all know what happens.
On the positive side, I woke up this morning thinking I was going to throw up until I got a little cereal in my stomach. I've never been so happy to feel sick.

I haven't been in the same situation..I had a stillborn and then a 2nd trimester miscarriage about 5 1/2 later, they weren't related....I also just wanted to say that maybe you did ovulate later than you thought or implanted late...I hope next week you see a happy healthy little baby!!! GL

I agree that it sounds like you either ovulated later or had a late implantation. Good luck at your next scan!

Well, ladies, thanks for your kind messages but we have no growing baby in there. I just came back from the follow up scan and there is nothing. My OB thinks I'll start bleeding in another week or so. She's given me a prescription for progesterone for next time but it won't help my old eggs.
