I went back to the docotors today because they called and wanted to see me if I was still contracting so they did a swab test - WHICH OMIGOD OUCH, they had to use the thing they use for a pap but COULDN'T USE LUBE SO LET ME SAY OOOWWAAA!!! To see if I am going to go into labor in the next four weeks, anyone know what this test is called?? Or have had it done?

I guess they are concerned about all the contractions and gave me medicine to help stop them Brethamine(??) anyone know anything about this medicine or the test, it would be greatly appreciated.

I had the test done with my son when I was 32 weeks. I had been contracting on and off since I was 28 weeks. It turned out negative and he ended up staying put until 39 weeks.

I didn't know what the test was called so I looked it up on the internet. It is called the fetal fibronectin test.
