When Doctors do your sonogram is it based on the weeks you are actually pregnant or by the Doctors calculated time. because they add on two weeks. please excuse me if the question seems crazy but i really don't know.

EVERYTHING they do is based on the proper way to calculate pregnancy. If you know you conceived TODAY....then you are like 2 weeks pregnant lol makes no sense. My 6 week sono....was basically 4 weeks after we had sex. Google Pregnancy calculator by DAY. Justmommies has a link and it tells you to the day how far along you are. (if u know your due date) for get alll about when you had sex or conceived, that means nothing lol

A gestation is usually figured using the date of your last menstral period, which for most women is 2 weeks prior to their conception date. The sonogram will include those two extra weeks....so technically pregnancy is about 38 weeks...but we say 40 because of those weeks between LMP and conception. Hope that answers your question!
