I'm really struggling with nursery themes for little girl. I looked at the ones online and in the stores but I'm having a hard time finding one I'm in love with. Then the ones that are in store are only in full sets and I don't need the bumpers or the valances and I hate paying for something I don't need. I've looked at the items sold in separates but they just don't work for me. We've decided to put her in with big sis. I can either buy this set Amazon.com: Purple Funky Zebra Baby Bedding 9 pc Crib Set: Baby that kind of matches and have the valances and bumpers I won't use. Have a lady from esty make a customized set that cost more but matches perfect, or ask my cousin what she can do, but I hate to feel like I'm obligating her to do it.

What is everyone else doing for their little ones's nursery?

No clue yet. We still have to move my son to the 3rd floor and convert his room into a nursery. Thankfully he's been begging for his room to be up there so I don't feel mean kicking him out of his room. hehe

We haven't told the kids yet so nothing can start as far as moving him yet. Once it does I think we're going to paint the background of the room first in a neutral color and then I can personalize it later in the pregnancy.

I won't start anything of this until I'm well into the 2nd trimester though. I usually sleep the 1st trimester away. hehe

Good luck finding something you love. =)

I'm having a boy, but we're doing monkeys. We have a wall decal of a monkey hanging from a tree, monkey wastebasket, monkey valance, etc. I'm buying all seperate too, as we're not doing a crib so we don't need all those blankets and such. (We're doing a pack and play. Which, what do you know, has monkies on it. LOL)

With my daughter we did winnie the pooh. Then when she turned 2, we did Dora.

If we have a little girl then I want the nursery in butterflies. I am obsessed with them to begin with, so it would be a great choice for us. I also like nature themes like dragonflies, butterflies, frogs, ponds, lilies, etc.

Here are some search results for butterflies on Amazon:

Amazon.com: butterfly nursery decor - Baby Products

I also like this dragonfly one:

Amazon.com: JoJo Designs 9-Piece Baby Designer Crib Bedding Set - Purple Dragonfly Dreams: Baby

Here is a lavender butterfly set I like:

Amazon.com: Boutique Brand New GEENNY Lavender Butterfly 13PCS Baby Nursery CRIB BEDDING SET: Baby

Anyways, I could go on forever posting. Lol.

Thank you Shortcake for my beautiful siggy!

We aren't doing a nursery theme so I am no help.
I would either see if you cousin or someone on etsy can help out or try to find the set in seperates. Sorry you are having so much trouble.

Thanks .:Shortcake:. for my great siggie

After going back and forth we decided on a Hello Kitty theme. Her comforter will match mine.

Like you, I did not see the point of getting a whole bedding set because we never used the bumpers, quilt, or crib sheet of Liam's "five piece set." Lol. The only parts we used were the valances and the bedskirt. So I have asked my mom to make Kieran a bedskirt to match his curtain and glider rocker. It is basic fabric in our room colors. Our theme is Frogs but we are just doing a mural in frogs, nothing else super-froggy. It is basically what we did with Liam (stripes/dots bedding and a mural of dogs on his wall).

If the set is cheap enough, go ahead and buy it even though you won't use all the pieces. I mean, I don't see paying more for individual pieces through Etsy. And I would still ask your cousin. She might be willing to give it as a gift? You could go pick out fabric and let her know what you want and her gift to the baby could be sewing it up for you? I know lots of people would love to have a ready-made gift like that. And if she is good at sewing (like my mom is), it would prolly only take her one afternoon to make a full set of goodies

I was having a hard time too. I was going to make my own, but I just couldn't find fabric that I loved. And then I found this

So here's her nursery

I'm going to make a valance and closet curtain with this
Thanks to babydoll213 for the siggy! My kids' blog Cora's blog
