I have a dr appointment today and I am feeling very anxious. This pg is so different from DS and I know that every pg is different, but with DS I was happy pg and with this one I am a mess. I know once I can feel the baby move it will be much easier. But now, I'm scare the dr won't find a h/b.

Which brings me to another point. How did our mothers, grandmothers, did it? No u/s or Doppler to hear the h/b. They did it for 40 weeks, we can hardly wait 4 next to hear the h/b on our next ob appointment

It is really hard to wait from appointment to appointment. I don't use my doppler every day, but I'm glad I have it. Any time the worry creeps in, I can quickly check that my baby is okay. The placenta is anterior, so I don't feel the baby every day and usually it's light enough that I can miss the movement or mistake it for gas.

I have no clue how they did it. Maybe part of it is if you go far enough back there weren't even tests for pregnancy. So they probably spent most of the 1st trimester unsure if their cycles were being weird or if they were pregnant.

I can totally relate - it's so hard not to worry. What time is your appt? I will be thinking of you and waiting to hear!

I think it's because they never knew what they were missing - when you don't have a way to be ensured, you don't know that you are missing out on stuff like that...sure I am sure that they were anxious too, but I think that in this day and age, we think about it more, because it is put out there more. If that makes sense...

I hope you have a great appointment today!! I have no idea how they did it - I love technology!!

I wonder what the technology will be like when our children are having babies? Like will they have their own portable ultrasound machines like we have dopplers now?

I have no idea how they did it....I had an ultrasound less than 2 weeks ago and am already nervous that something has gone wrong since then (my next u/s is on Thursday). In the pioneer days, I probably would just now be beginning to suspect that I am pregnant since I've missed 2 periods now.
