So Friday I had my regular OB appointment, I drove through dunkin donuts on my way and had a donut with sprinkles. Got to my dr appt and had my normal Q&A, she checked babies heartbeat etc. Then said that she was going to order my 28 week test - glucose/blood. She said I could do it that day or I could come back and do it another day. (I was 24 weeks Friday). Since I had the day off I went ahead and did it while I was there.

I got my results back this morning, I failed. My numbers were 145 (cutoff 140). I'm wondering if my donut could have done it. Now I have to go back and do the 3 hour test next Saturday the 29th UGH!

It was the doughnut I'm sure... I do mine at my 28 week appointment and I have strict rules like I cannot eat any carbs or sugar 12 hours before my test. I can have a breakfast of eggs and bacon. That's it.

I'm sorry you have to go do the 3 hour test. I'm sure you'll pass it. Even gals who do no eat donuts before the 1 hour fail but pass the 3 hour. Fingers crossed. And now a donut sounds good.

Yep I failed the 1 hour test and passed the 3 hour (no yummy donuts). I hope that's the case for you too. Sorry you're having to deal with the stress of taking the 3 hour one... I hope you pass it no problem!

It was the doughnut. My dr has you fast for 12 hours and I still failed my one hour. The three hour sucks but I'm sure you will pass.

Thank you *Kiliki* for my beautiful siggy

You were so close to making it! I'm sure it was the donut. That sucks you have to take the 3 hour now :/ My doc does a 2 hour fasting glucose test for all his patients and I'm guessing it's b/c so many fail the 1 hour. I will be doing that on Wed and not looking forward to it! I'm worried that the fasting, the sugary drink, and the 3 blood draws over 2 hours will make me sick! So I totally feel for you having to do the 3 hour test! Hopefully it's not too bad.
