Hello all. I am new here. I posted similar question in the TTC after loss section, but I am hoping to get some more input from some of you as well. I am trying ot make a healthy decision.

I had my D&C 8/9. It was a missed misscarriage, and my body was not letting go. I had AF exactly 28 dyas after my D&C, 9/6. At my 4 wk DR appt/checkup, she said we could TTC after 2-3 cycles. I would like to start after my second, which should be 10/5.

My mind is at ease, but I want my body to be ready. I am afraid to get pregnant to soon, and miscarry again if my body is not up to par.

How many of you had a succesful pregnancy after a D&C, and started TTC after your second cycle?

ANy info is greatly appreciated!

I am sorry for your loss and wish you lots of luck TTC!

I also had a missed mc but I miscarried with medication not a D&C. I waited 2 cycles to TTC again but it took us more to get pg. I am sure some of the other ladies will be able to help you out more.

My first m/c was natural and didn't get pregnant for 9 months. My second m/c I had a D&C. My dr gave me the go-ahead to TTC after my first AF w/each m/c. I got pg on my 2nd cycle after my D&C. I will say after my 2nd D&C we tried much harder to get pg. I am now 24 weeks and everything is going well.

So, yes, it is possible to get pg soon after a D&C and I don't necessarily think that you need to wait 3 cycles, but that is just my opinion. My dr always told me to wait until after my first AF and then we were good to go.

With my 2nd m/c I had a d&c and we were told we could try after 1 AF - which we did and I believe we got pregnant not that first month but the one after, unfortunately it ended in a loss and after that d&c we waited much longer because we were going through testing so I can't be that much help. Good luck to you whatever you decide to do!

My first m/c was natural and doc suggested we wait one cycle to make it easier to date the pg. We chose not to wait and got pg immediately. We lost that one and had to have a d&c. Doc sent samples for testing and both were due to chromosomal issues, so we didn't lose the second because of the closeness of the pg's. After the d&c, doc asked us to wait one cycle, this time to let my body and my emotions heal. We did and conceived on the first try. So far this one is working. I'll be 10 weeks on Thursday and we've seen the h/b twice.

It really depends on when you're ready emotionally and physically. You might call your doc to find out why they want you to wait 2-3 cycles instead of just 1. There may be a medical reason for that time frame.
