I had my 37 week appointment today. Waited 45 minutes in the waiting room only to be seen for 5 minutes by a new doctor or that my regular doctor is training. My doctor only came in for literally one minute to say that everything was fine. I didn't even get my cervix checked - nothing.

Apparently she will do an internal exam next time and we will discuss labor but I have to wait an entire week.

I don't really know why I feel so disappointed. I guess I was hoping to hear that I was dialating and would have the baby soon. After a whole week being sick with a cold, I am really ready for this to be over. I want to see my baby, right now!

I'm sorry your appointment didn't go as planned. I have had a cold this week too, and I can only imagine how you feel (i'm only 30 weeks and it is just plain rotten!)
I hope next weeks appointment goes better for you.

Good luck with next week. That is frustrating.

I'm sorry your appointment didnt go the way you hoped - I know the feeling of waiting - I had my bi-weekly checkup Friday and was seen 1 hour and 15 minutes after my appt time and he listened to the hb for about 2 seconds and sent me on my way. I hope that the week goes fast for you and if you feel like you're rushed again next time I would mention it - I feel like they don't even think about how important these appts are to us especially at your point.

awwww, I totally remember that feeling only to reach 40 weeks w/out an internal exam. Not nothing. My ds wanted to stay in there for eternity.

There is still hope for you though. Good luck and hang in there!

I got my first internal check at a couple of days shy of 38 weeks. I asked for it. I'd been having contractions and cervical pains and wanted to know if anything was going on down there!

I hope the week goes by quickly and your appointment goes better.

Or better yet, you son decides to show up early!

I can't wait for this Friday's appointment. I had some cramping yesterday so I am hoping for some progress but I will probably just end up being disappointed again. I just want some sign from my body that I am getting ready for birth.
