I get that all the time too. It's usually the placenta in the way. Once I freaked out so much because I thought the baby's heartbeat was going way too fast, but it was mixed with my heartbeat!
Thank you Claire1977 for my adorable siggy

it's to be expected - your little one is moving around soooo much right now! it is also possible you have an anterior placenta (placenta on front uterine wall, rather than back wall - absolutely fine - i had one).. The swooshy staticy noise is most likely the umbilical cord - I remember we could usually hear the blood pulsing through the umbilical cord whenever my m/w used the doppler!

if you're picking up a h/b that is the impt thing!

sometimes the doc still can't find tyler's on the first try becuase of where the placenta is...and he still is moving around. We will find it and then he moves and its vanished!

Yup mine is the exact same way. My baby tends to stay low though. Sometimes its really loud and other times its not and I hear my hb too. My babies is always 150-173 as well. Its usually around 165 most the time.
