So, when I was pregnant with Cora, one of DH's favorite things to do was to put an ear to my belly and listen to Cora's heartbeat. He first heard it around 22/23 weeks.

With Rielle, since my placenta is right out front, it's been kind of difficult for him to do. He hasn't liked doing it, and I think it was because I asked him to listen for Cora's the day we found out she was gone, and he (of course) couldn't find it. So not being able to hear Rielle's bothered him.

But he humored me this morning, and listened, and he could hear it! It was so good to see him get excited about it too. He listened a lot longer than normal, and talked to her for a little bit (like telling her to quit kicking him. lol). It was so good to see him bond because he's been kind of "keeping his distance," this go around. It's totally to be expected, considering what we've been through, but it's good to see him bond. It makes me feel like we might actually get to bring her home.

The bad part was the place he put his head when he could hear her heartbeat must have squished a nerve or something because it made my lower back HURT so bad! But I just sat there taking deep breaths through it because I didn't want to make him move! lol, what we do for our husbands!
Thanks to babydoll213 for the siggy! My kids' blog Cora's blog

I can see why your hubby would be a bit reluctant to listen to Rielle's heartbeat , but i'm glad he did it today, and was able to hear with - anterior placenta & all!!!!!

I'm glad he's finally getting some bonding time! If it makes you feel better, DH is just now (at 36 weeks) getting into the pg. Better late than never, I guess!
