so i have my consult with a fetal-maternal medicine specialist this friday afternoon. it is the closest one to where i live and it is two hours away! this is just the consult, so have no idea what to expect, and if he will even think i need to being seeing him. he hasn't scheduled a targeted u/s yet, which is what my ob wanted him to do, but the peri said that throbophila (clotting disorder) is not grounds for a targeted u/s. the thing is i am not going for the throbophila, i have tested negative for it since i tested positive a few years ago, i am going due to my previous four losses. we want to rule out developmental problems with the baby. plus, i was under the impression that the peri would be the one to decide if i will be able to stop taking my heparin injections at 20 weeks or if i will have to continue them the whole pregnancy. then, i believe, i would have to continue seeing him b/c that would put me at risk of pre-term labor.
i don't know, i am just kind of confused.
Thanks to *Kiliki* for my pretty siggy!

i was trying to be low key about it yesterday, but me and my sister talked about it last night- she is 12 weeks today. & justin was amazed that am about one third of the way through this pregnancy. he admitted he is getting scared now b/c we have so much to do. i told him it will all work out.
Thanks to *Kiliki* for my pretty siggy!

you're over the hump !!!!!! ~wooooooooo hoooooooooooooo!!!~~

I saw my Maternal Fetal MD at 12 weeks, when I had my U/S......over an hour away too! UGH
it was just a lot of ..."well, here is the chance of this...or that".....I am 39, borderline hypertensive and type 2 diabetic,..I have not seen the dr. since !!! Hopefully the consult wil go smoothly and you wont have to continue or at least see him again until later in the pregnancy.
If I were you, I'd call my regular OB and tell HIM to get in touch with the MFMD to get that 12 weeks u/s scheduled.
