Ok so i wanna try and have my first child soon..but i am terrified. I myself was born at 24 weeks weighed 1 pound and i heard us women born early are considered high risk because where we were born early so we have more of a chance getting pre eclampsia, diabetes or having stroke during or after pregnancy.

I am terrified that i will have a stroke at like 7 months in (happened to a friend and she died)because maybe my vessels in my brain are not developed enough because i was born premature?

Any women out there born prematurely and are pregnant or have kids? if so how is pregnancy going for you?

Sorry no one else has replied...
I myself was born 6-7 weeks early due to placental problems...
I am now pregnant with #4, and all of my other babies were born at 38-40weeks. I'm currently 25weeks with this one, and none of my babies have had any issues whatsoever.
Hope this helps!!
Talk with your doc about your concerns, sometimes a physical can put your mind at ease!

I weighed 2 pounds 14 ounces when I was born. I was born 2 1/2 months prematurely. I was 19 when I got pregnant and under 100 pounds. Even with all of that I was never considered high-risk due to those factors. I ended up having some issues with my pregnancy (pre-term contractions from 24 weeks until delivery at 38 1/2 weeks) but was never contributed to me having been born early.

I wouldn't worry and if you are that concerned you could always talk to your Doctor about this.

You should call your doctor, she'll have a lot of answers. I know that premature birth in and of itself is not hereditary. I also know that I was born term, and both of my pregnancies were nightmares.

Also remember that things are different now than when we were born. I'm guessing that you are at least 20, so that's two decades of research and advancement to keep our babies inside longer.

Thank you Vicki for my awesome siggy!!

thanks ladies

I know can things can happen to any..even full term women but the fact that i was born premature, I keep thinking i have a AVM..which is weak vessels in the brain(technically anyone can be born with these and not know)...soo yea im worried i secretly have this and u will get pregnant..one of these vessels will burst and i will have a stroke and die.

The reason im so hung up on this stroke thing..because think said above in other post..because i heard of someone..perfectly healthy at 7 months pregnant died of a stroke..she went to hospital for placental tear..developed a severe headache..they gave her a narcotic and she had stroke and died...so now i have convinced myself that will happen to me and its sad because i want a baby in 4 years ill be 28..almost 29...

anxiety sucks!!!!!
