Hello everyone

I hope somebody can help me. I'm 37 and have started menopause. I'm seeing a dr at a fertility clinic but I'm running into a couple of problems. I would likely need an egg donor or embryo donor. The clinic here doesn't help with these situations. You need to find your own egg donor, usually a family member. Unfortunately neither of my sisters can be a donor. I am wondering if anybody here has had any experiences with any fertility clinics in the Toronto area. I'm originally from Ontario and am very likely moving back to that area. I have found a couple of clinics which mention embryo adoption on their websites and I'm going to contact them. I was just wondering if anybody here has any personal experiences with any clincs?

Thanks for your help

I can give you lots of info! I live in Toronto and this past year I did two egg donations. The first one is about 8 months pregnant with twins and the second is about 5 months along with one. We did it through a clinic called "LIFE QUEST" at Bay St and Elm St. downtown. The first recipient picked the clinic because it was closer to me and the second couple was conveniently already affiliated with them. Both couples were in their 40s and had tried unsuccessfully for years to get pregnant. I felt so great to be able to help them out. Luckily I was very fertile and everything went smoothly. Because of teh laws in Canada you aren't supposed to pay the donor but you can reimburse them for their expenses associated with the donation. So we made an invoice for fake expenses. The laws aren't that strict yet so we were able to do this. Have you gotten ahold of a lawyer yet? that's something you'll need to do. The first recipient found me on a yahoo group (I had taken an interest and posted in the group), and the second one I found me on a forum regarding IVF (I was looking for help with bloating after the procedure and they asked me if I'd do it again).

There is so much I could tell you. If you want you can email me at [email protected] for more info. I'm always happy to talk about it.
