Are you near a beach?

Do you like beachcombing?

What sorts of things do you collect?

What's your best ever beachcombing find?

We are right next to the beach but we don't do beach-combing... although sometimes if we are going to the stoney end of the beach i will sit there and flick through stones see if i can find any interesting ones

Im about a half hour from the beach and with the weather here i don't get there all that often. We holidayed at the beach last summer for 3 weeks and got onto the beach 4 times only over the weather and out of those 4 times, once was raining, once was so windy we had to leave cause we had sand in our eyes and another time although the weather was nice we were frozen, so we don't have the best track record with the beach. I hope this year will be better.

Forever missing my 3 angel babies: Harry, Ewan, and Audrey.
I am at one with God and with Nature. I feel my oneness with absolutely everything.

We're about an hour from Blackpool/Southport but they're not the nicest beaches and the tide is often ridiculously far out, and Ainsdale which is quite good for beachcombing but not so good for paddling/sunbathing.

I prefer, if I can, to drive about an hour and a half to get to the beaches in Prestatyn and Rhyl which don't smell of wee and which have the water a decent distance for paddling. Daniel and I got out there twice last summer and we also went to Skegness twice while staying down in Lincolnshire with Shaun's mum. Daniel loves a paddle and I love looking for treasures on the beach and relaxing on the sand.

I've collected lots of shells over the years but the best things I found were: a piece of driftwood which looks like a bird's head. I have kept it as a souvenir and in hopes of making some sort of spiritual wand with it, but never got round to it. I found that on Boddam beach when staying with Sarah (madmum_sarah) a few years ago. And two matching shells which I used on my love altar in 2009 which resulted in me meeting Shaun in 2011. I found those on Arrabida beach when staying in Portugal with my friend Silvia (she used to post here some time ago while living in St Albans).
