I went to the Endo this morning, They are putting me on a blood sugar machine...just to keep track of my blood sugar while I am on the MET. He wants to do a blood test to make sure I am not pregnant because he doesn't want the baby under stress when starting the MET because it can make you sick So I am doing a Blood Test to makre sure I am not pregnant and tons of other things like my Hormones and what not.

I start the MET next week after they get the results back that I am not pregnant and there is nothing wrong with my liver.

They want me to take 500mg in the morning and then 500mg at night. First week only 500mg to get my body used to it before taking 1000mg.

So things are looking up! I have lost 7 pounds...so there is good news!

Awesome! Sounds like a really great plan, and that your doctor is being very responsible about monitoring the effect of the drug on your body. I wish my doctor had done that, she pretty much just threw a prescription at me and was like 'Here you go'... Thankfully I've found a better doctor since...

I would ask at your next appt about the possibility of increasing your dosage to at least 1500 when you start TTC in January. The standard dose for TTC is 1500-2000 mg, and I have read studies that claim that less than 1500 is not effective for PCOS. I trust any random study as much as I trust any random doctor though so... just something to think about asking.

Hey Mandy!
Well I am sorta glad that he is making sure that I am ok with taking the meds! I was scared to do the whole prick blood thing but it isn't that bad! I took my first test and it was 107 and they told me that is good!

I will be talking to them in about 6 months about getting it higher...but right now I want to get everything under control because I do not want to have medical problems while being pregnant! So once I start losing weight and what not I can just do the 1000 then move up to the 1500 or more!
