What did you do this weekend? It always seems that this board is so quiet on the weekends but hopping during the week. Anything interesting happen?

I spent my weekend cooking chili and working. I spent saturday night cooking chili for a cookoff with our local dive club. I spent hours on this chili. It was beautiful; perfect. I followed the recipe exactly using fresh everything. I even minced my own garlic. I followed each intricate step. I was so excited because I thought I would win. Well, I took 2nd place. The winner wasn't even a chili but more of a stew. It had ground beef, celery, pinto beans, carrots and some other vegetable. It didn't even have any spice to it. Can you believe that Emeril's down home chili didn't win!!!
Blech!
But I did have fun photographing the underwater pumpkin carving contest. It's a little harder than on land because your pumpkin floats and if you go too deep it'll explode. They did a good job especially since they could only use a dive tool (a large bulky knife) to carve.

2nd place is still good! Underwater pumpkin carving?........that sounds hard to do.

We didnt do much this weekend. We were going to go to the state fair on saturday, but we decided not to. We went out to breakfast yesterday and went grocery shopping. Nothing exciting.
