Messages from higher sources are coming to us at all times. Most notably, our higher selves. These can be slight insights, impulses, urges, premonitions etc… to guide us, help us, stop us, redirect us or just let us land flat on our face if need be Let’s face it, sometimes you can only learn through the mistakes you make.

To strengthen this connection you will need to listen to your intuition. Your intuition IS your higher self. That is your speed dial. Every time you get that feeling in your stomach, listen to it. Each time you listen, you strengthen your connection. Luckily, you will not only strengthen your connection with your higher self, but your psychic abilities will be more prone to come through as you’re allowing the energy from the other planes and realms to flow through you by way of your Higher Self. You may find your guides, totems, angels, Others, God(s) etc. . .during this process (there will be workshops on Other creatures, don’t worry).

Your next best bet at strengthening your psychic channels is to meditate. This can be for 3 minutes, 5 minutes, 15 minutes, and hour… however long you need. It’s hard and takes time and patience to learn. We go through our lives living in the mundane. We forget our true selves and our connection with our Divine weakens, leaving us feeling “lost” so to speak, always wanting more. Each day try to meditate, to understand that we’re Spirit and all connected. Know that your Divine source is always with you and willing to help and listen when you need it. The more you connect spiritually, the more you will be able to see the spiritual side in all things mundane and the more your psychic channels will open.

So, how to start off meditating? There are various forms of meditation and reasons/goals of meditating. What I’m speaking about here is almost like a prayer (to the Divine or just to your higher self). Sit quietly, eyes open or closed and concentrate on your breathing. Think of things that inspire you spiritually. Find a “safe spot” a “meditation spot” in your mind where everything is as magical as you want it to be, it’s your world. Ask what you want of the Divine or just talk about yourself. No, I’m not saying this in a conceited way , I’m speaking about talking in your meditation spot in your head to your Divine about what you want to work on within yourself, what you’ve accomplished, what you’ve failed at and what you have learned from those failures. This is sort of like rambling, except you’re not rambling to yourself in your head, you are in the spot you created in your mind to directly connect you with your Higher Self and all that is spiritual.
If that is not your cup of tea, you can do a candle meditation where you focus on the flame of a candle and let your mind “quietly” drift. You’ll find your niche of what works for you. The important thing is that you take quiet time each day (if possible) to stop being human for a second, and be Spirit.
