How "modernized" is your current Parish you're attending?

Ours, for instance, is very much modernized. We have a huge screen hanging where they put PowerPoint presentations of all the hymns - people don't have to use the hymnal anymore. Problem is that they're very disorganized at times and the person in charge doesn't switch the 'slides' at the right times so you have incorrect parts of hymns showing up. Then we have air conditioning installed all over the parish walls. The Youth Mass, which is the last Sunday Mass they have, uses a lot of drums and dancing/moving to the music as they play - I actually really don't like attending that Mass for this reason. Sometimes I really miss attending the Cathedral downtown!

Ours isn't quite like yours but it is more modern than the church we were married in.

Ours isn't like that at all. I'm glad, too. I dont need technology distracting me from the Lord at Church. I have plenty of that at at home, LOL!

Our Parish is quite tech savvy, and it works.

Our masses are webcast, and available for your Ipod off the website, and this is becoming more popular in other parishes in this area.

Putting up a PPT instead of hymnals or a weekly publication of the music for the parishioners is a neat idea on the budgetary end of things, but I think it needs more practice from the sound of it.

The music of the Youth Mass would not bother me at all. We have more "with it" music than the parish I grew up in, and I learned to appreicate what they are doing in the music ministry.

I really wish ours wasn't so modernized. It's not just that, but the choir (I hate saying it) is awful. They don't sing well at all... and then when the PowerPoint presentations of the hymns don't even correspond with what they're singing, it confuses everyone and people stop singing.

The Youth Mass... their choir is all youth, obviously, but seriously... so many of them come in dressed up in baggy street-like clothing, it's just not appropriate IMO. They look like they're going for a party and not for Sunday Mass.
