Has anybody read A Mother's Rule of Life by Holly Pierlot? I first got my hands on this book shortly after it came out... my Thomas was just a few weeks old at the time and, well, let's just say I overwhelmed myself from the very beginning and it didn't last long.

Well, I'm returning to it now, with new determination. I don't feel the desperation that I did then, and being six months pregnant has me in a better frame of mind compared to being six weeks post-partum! So, I'm going to give it a go and try to take it one baby step at a time.

I would love to discuss this book. Getting more order in my life has been on my heart for a long time now!

I haven't yet, but it's on my reading list! I really really want to read it! Right now I'm reading "The Apostolate of Holy Motherhood" again and a collection of saint stories. I have been spiritually drained lately - discouraged and just, dry. I mentioned that reading some saint stories might help rekindle my enthusiasm for Christian life, so DH suprised me by picking up 3 saint books at the library. It's working! Will let you know when I get to Mother's Rule of Life!

I have also read the Apostolate of Holy Motherhood a few times. I've been working on my "Rule" for about two weeks now and noticing a big improvement not only in our routines but in my focus...

I read the "Apostolate" also....like, one hundred thousand years ago. I forget....did I like it? Whats it about? I am spiritually drained as well, and I have the book in some box somewhere out in the garage. Worth scavengering for? I think I remember it was a good one! But still, let me know what its about. Mary and Jesus, right?

Definitely worth digging it out! It's a collection of the visions "Mariamante" had of Mary and Jesus, and the guidance they gave her about motherhood. It's challenging, but I love how it brings me back to reality every time I read it - the Eternal reality about what our work here with our children is really all about.
