What does the third Commandment mean to you? How do you keep the Sabbath holy? Do you do "work" on Sunday? What do you deem as necessary work vs. unnecessary work? Do you have advice for anyone struggling to keep the day more for God?

Keeping holy on the sabboth means, for me, to go to church with my family. There are no options. There is no "I didn't get any sleep," or "we woke up late." Non of that crap. We go, whether we want to or not. And believe me, sometimes I just don't want to get outta bed. BUt.......from experience, I have set a precidence, and now the kids dont argue about going.
Also, I try not to shop. It makes other people have to work. I guess I could lay off housework and spend mor etime with the kids. It all depends.
19 yr ANNIVERSARY at Port O'Connor, TX. We went fishing for 3 days offshore. We are here at sunset, and very sunburned!

Sunday for us is Church & Family time. (usually, anyway, since our girl is still small, etc.). Normally we don't do housework on Sunday and shop very little.

Like Becky and Julia already wrote, I try to do as little housework as possible and minimal shopping. We also try to devote the entire morning to family time, with a nice big breakfast and then Mass. We have been going to the later Mass (11:00am) after Nathaniel's morning nap and it's been working out great. I think as we have more children and they are older I would like to have some kind of Bible study or reading or rosary time on Sunday night as well. I have heard of people doing volunteer work on Sundays, and think that's a neat idea.

We go to Church at either 9am or 11am. We do not go shopping or run errands on Sunday.
I do cook and do dishes but besides cleaning up after eating we don't do any housework. I'm still working fulltime waiting for our first baby to arrive so that means my saturdays are very busy and full of errands and cleaning but it is all worth it.

I was being real good...but I've been slacking lately...

We usually go to 8:30 am Mass and come home and relax. I don't do unnecessary servile work or
unnecessary shopping.

However, lately we've been going to bed late on Saturday nights. So we're not waking up in time
for Mass. Then we go at 5:00 pm and sometimes (like yesterday) I've been going shopping. Like
for a silly purse.
