have you ever been around someone when they're dying...like, on their death bed?

We found out yesterday that my FIL has cancer. they don't know much about it yet, but it made me think of my grandmother who died 3 years ago from cancer. it was kinda neat to be around her those last days because of the things that happend. one day she started talking to some man. she kept saying "John, from down the street, he's the bishop and he was asking me questions." It was crazy because a few years earlier a John, from down the street had died and my grandmother never knew him. she just kept talking to all these people that have died and it was just amazing to be there with her. anwyays, i was just thinking about it and had to share. i like knowing that there is something afterwards.

Thanks for sharing, Kelsie!

I was with my DH and his whole family for two days before his mom died. She was incoherent, but I could feel her there with us the first day and my dh said she squeezed his hand when he was holding it. The next day the family choose to pull her life support and I was there... it was very spiritual. I too, like knowing that there is something afterwards.

I never have but it sounds like a spiritual experience Kelsie!

Thank you to the wonderful ladies who mad the blinkies!

"The Lord compensates the faithful for every loss. That which is taken away from those who love the Lord will be added unto them in His own way. While it may not come at the time we desire, the faithful will know that every tear today will eventually be returned a hundredfold with tears of rejoicing and gratitude..... These experiences, while often difficult to bear at the time, are percisely the kinds of experiences that stretch our understanding, build our character and increase our compassion for others."
