Hello ladies,
It's been a long time since I've posted, so maybe some of you don't know who I am. I'm Samantha, mom to Jonathan(7), Alayna(5), and Brendan (almost 2). My husband just recently got out of the military, but not on our own accord. The Navy is downsizing and basically laid off my husband. We are receiving a decent severance check, we have access to the base (or any base) as well as access to the commissary, exchange and mwr for the next two yrs, and we have free medical for the next 6 months. So it's not too traumatic on us because we are getting eased out. However, my husband is taking it really hard. He's ready to give up. I'm trying to be strong for him but it's really hard when he does nothing but bum around and look at everything negatively. He's trying to get a job on base where we live. The people keep telling him he's at the top of the list for consideration but we've heard nothing. We don't know how long we should stick around. The only thing keeping us here is that specific job. If he doesn't get that job we want to leave. We don't really like where we live. It doesn't have anything that we like to do. Quite frankly, it's boring to us and I think if we do stay we would be miserable.
We would love to live in Florida again. My husband was stationed there for 4 yrs and we loved it. Not necessarily Florida itself, but we love how there was always something to do and we had some really great friends there.
Anyway, I just needed to get this out somewhere. Thanks for listening.
~Samantha, mommy to Jonathan, Alayna and Brendan.~

I'm sorry things are stressful Samantha! That can't be fun. I hope things get better.

Thank you to the wonderful ladies who mad the blinkies!

"The Lord compensates the faithful for every loss. That which is taken away from those who love the Lord will be added unto them in His own way. While it may not come at the time we desire, the faithful will know that every tear today will eventually be returned a hundredfold with tears of rejoicing and gratitude..... These experiences, while often difficult to bear at the time, are percisely the kinds of experiences that stretch our understanding, build our character and increase our compassion for others."

Sorry! My DH lost his job when I was 12 weeks pregnant with Peter! We had to move to another country (we lived in Canada) and take a significant pay cut just to survive. It sucks, but there are worse things.....

I hope things get better for you soon!
