On Thursday 11/18 I had a Dr. appt along with a growth ultrasound because I guess I was measuring a little large a couple weeks ago. We found out that I had elevated fluid levels, and that Chloe was approx. 6lbs 7oz.

So Friday 11/19 I'm at work, just went and got some lunch and got back to my cube to drop it off. Decided I should probably pee before I start eating, so off I go to the restroom. Well when I am peeing it sure feels like more than what my squished bladder could hold was coming out. I start to stand up and more fluid just keeps on pouring out. Ok, time for me to have a little mini freakout because I'm still not even 36 weeks at this point. A couple of people on my team at work were super awesome and drove me home. This is all at about 12:20pm. Oh, and absolutely no contractions are going on at this point.

I call my Dr. and they say to head to the hospital. Well... I have NOTHING ready to go. That was going to be my plan for the weekend. Pack the bag, wash baby clothes, etc. So DH and I throw together some stuff in a bag and head on our way.

We arrive at around 2, confirmed that my water broke and get sent to the delivery room.

Around 5pm they check me to see where everything stands. I was 1cm and 25% effaced. Great. Contractions were starting up, but nothing really too painful yet. The Dr. tells me that if nothing is going on in 12 hours they are going to induce.

I get checked again at around 7pm and I'm up to a whopping 1.5cm. So I'm pretty sure at this point that I'll be getting induced at 5am or so.

Around 11 or 12 the contractions really start picking up to the point where it's uncomfortable enough that I can't sleep through them anymore.

By around 4am they are getting quite painful and I practically beg the nurse to check me to see what I'm at now because I wanted to know where things stood. She was going to make me wait another hour, but then I puked all over the place from the pain and she decided she'd check me after all. (Oh, and the puking comes out of nowhere, I felt so bad about it but I'm sure they've seen it a million times). Joy of joys I'm at 5cm and can ask for the epi! Woo hoo! They told me it would take probably an hour a cm at this point, so I knew I wouldn't be able to handle 5 more hours of that pain plus more.

So I'm waiting... and waiting... and waiting some more for that dang epidural man to come around. Turns out I was like 4th in line for one.

At about 5am my body gave this huge involuntary push. So to my nurse I was like "so, umm... my body just pushed really hard right then on its own" so she checks me and was like "well, your cervix is gone. We need to get your dr. here". Turns out the on call Dr. is 30 minutes out, so they pull in a midwife who was there at the time. 5cm to complete in 1 hour. Epidural-less. I was shocked.

So the midwife comes in and at 5:26am 11/20 little Chloe made her grand entrance. Because she was a little early, she was having some trouble breathing so they took her to the corner of the room where I couldn't really see her (boo) and she wasn't crying. Well she was too busy working on breathing to cry, she pinked up nicely so they were telling me that she was doing great.

She was put in my arms long enough to snap a few pictures and then it was off to the NICU for her. She never had to be put on any oxygen, so that was great news. She just needed to be observed for the labored breathing, and then weaning her off the isolette to make sure she could maintain her own temp.

She was discharged 2.5 hours after I was and we all got to come home together

We are all doing great, DH has been wonderful, and she is just perfect. I'm so in love <3
