Bella Grace Gigante
7 pounds 1 ounce
19 inches long
Induced/Medicated Birth

This was a planned induction. We arrived at the hospital at 5am. When arriving we registered, got settled in the rooms, hooked up to the IV's etc. Pitocin started around 7ish. I started at 2cm, 75% effaced. My Dr came in my room around 8:30/8:45 to break my water. What a weird feeling of warm water lol! I remembered it from my first daughter but I forgot how weird it felt =) Contractions didnt start to pick up until around 9:45/10. I received Demerol which just took the edge off a little. Not much relief though. The contractions weren't seriously intense but they were painful. I just breathed through every single one. During one strong one, there was this green light flashing on the TV and I like hypnotized myself.. it was crazy but it worked! That contraction was one of the easiest to get through. Ok so now I was ready for the epidural. I was so scared because with DD1 it didnt work. All of the nurses were aware of this so they got the best anesthesiologist for me! She was amazing. After about 1 hr of strong contractions she came in to save me =D I'd say this was like 11:30am? I got the epidural which didn't hurt... at all!! 10/15 mins go by and I was still having contractions, pretty badly. She upped my dose level and AHHHH I was numb! She stayed there with me for about 30 mins making sure it was working and I was comfortable. My Dr came in around 12 to check on me. At this point I was 5 cm and 90% effaced. He upped my pitocin a little and said hed be back at 1:30. My DH and I fell asleep until around 1:30ish when Dr came to check me. My DH went to go grab a drink so he wasnt in the room anymore. Dr checked me and I was 8.5 cm and 100% effaced so he said.. ok.. it's just about time, lets get set up! He walked out and saw my husband and said are u ready? She's gonna push shortly! So in ran Dh all excited and helped the nurses set up. Dr came back in around 2.. checked me some more. I was ready ;D did a couple "trial" pushes to make sure I didnt need to get my epi turned off.. and I passed! LOL. Well I only had to push for a max of 15 mins and here came sweet Bella. What a wonderful labor/delivery. I couldnt have prayed for a better one.
The only thing was... my Dh said, wheres my cord? Who did my job? and the Dr said I had to cut it cuz it was around her neck but she was fine, perfect and healthy! He said she must have turned breech at one point because of the way the cord was around her.

I know this was long but it was so worth writing =)
Thank You elleword for my beautiful siggy!!!
