I was scheduled for an induction on the 24th at 8am EST. We got into our room at 8:25a. Started the pit at 10a, I was 2-3cm, 70% and she was still high and cervix was posterior. At 12p started to feel contractions slightly. At 1:30p my Dr. came in and was going to break my water but I had only had a good pattern of contractions for about 1 1/2-2 hours. And since I wanted to go natural he said it was best if we held off on breaking my water until I dialated further. I agreed. 3pm I was cheecked and I was 5cm and still 70%. Contractions were still good (2-3 minutes apart) and I was still comfortable. I was checked again at 6:45p and I was still 5-6cm and 70%. So I told them to go ahead and break my water to hopefully get things to progress further. I started to feel the contractions more around 7:30p although still not painful. Still at 5-6cm and 70% I decided to get an epidural at 9:30p because she was still very high and cerivix was posterior and the contractions were getting uncomfortable. She was face up and that's why my contractions were getting more uncomfortable and not progressing. Her head wasn't pressing on my cervix correctly to get it to dialate. I was checked again at 9:50p and was at 7cm and 80%. Cervix still posterior but she was starting to turn and come down slightly. At 10:30p the contractions were back to back and right on top of each other so the nurse came in to place an internal monitor to measure them more correctly but didn't end up fully dialated and 100%! I couldn't believe it!! At 11p I started pushing but she was still trying to turn and was still high. After 2 hours of pushing, Kayleigh Michele arrive on Sept 25th at 1:01am weighing 8 lbs 15 oz and 21 inches long!! She was finally here! So even though it was technically 17 hours of labor since starting the pit, I only felt as if I were in labor for 5 1/2 hours.

I couldn't have asked for a better birthing experience!! Here are some pics of my little girl
