Did you ever experience pain with breastfeeding? Did you ever go through the 'bleeding nipple' stage? Did you want to give up at first?

Did I ever! OMG - i'm surprised I made it through the first couple of weeks! I had scabs on my nipples, he wasn't latching quite right, and it KILLED! I never had toe curling type of pain before this! I just kept on going, and today - its like nothing. I have to say, I may have a clogged duct though - I have a lump on my left breast, and it hurts! But - breastfeeding makes it better - I think its starting to go away.

I never went through any of that, because we needed a nipple shield for the first few months. When we got rid of the shield I didn't go through any of that either.

ooooooooooooh yeeeesssss!!! For one, my boobs literally exploded when my milk came in. I actually started leaking milk at 6 months pregnant so by the time Remi was born - they we're full!! I went from Bs to Ds before my milk even came in. He was super tiny at birth (5lbs) and my huge D+ boobs were too big for his mouth so he didn't latch well at all. The first week we did okay...the 2nd week?? Bleeding nipples for sure! I GAVE UP!! I couldn't feed him without screaming and crying in pain. So I pumped. After letting my nipples heal for another week, we tried it again. My boobs had finally 'settled down' a bit and he was able to latch like a pro. We never had a 'painful' latch again!

sooooo much pain with my first!!! bleeding, cracks and two mastitis after i gave up and exclusively pumped for 6 months! with my second I was super scared but i hired a great LC who helped me with latch and taught how to take care of myself. She suggested the Silverette nursing cups as they are in silver and they worked wonders! no pain no cracks no mastitis! when i started i had really little bit of soreness and thought...here we go again but...NOTHING! one year of painless breastfeeding! good luck!

Hi Bianca! they worked great for me and I know other mums who used them! they cost $59 but if I think how much I paid between creams and antibiotics with my first...you can get them on Amazon!
