My son has a BAD cold, can't sleep good at all b/c of how stuffed up he is. It's been quite a few days, and nothing seems to be helping. I hate to run my kids to the doctor if it's just anotehr cold, but it isn't improving. Is it time I give in and take him to get checked? My DH says just to take him, but I hate running him in if it's just a run of the mill cold that needs to run it's course. What do you think?

They are definately going around right now. Cold can linger around for weeks! Before taking him to the Dr. (where he can catch something worse just sitting in the waiting room), I wold waita while longer unless he starts to get worse or gets a high fever. Have you been exposing him to steam in the bathroom? If you do that before meals and before bed it might help him be more comfortable to eat and sleep. After steaming him in the bathroom, you might try putting Vapo rub on his feet and put socks on over it- I don't know why, but it works, lol.

If you are at all worried, take him in.
