I suppose it could if used too much. I couldn't say how much it averages out to be - but there are days that Jonah (age three) may spend three or fours hours on movies & games & then there are days we don't have any on at all - it really depends. He has done a bit more since having the baby - as we have a Wii & it's something he & I can do together while i nurse the baby & we did this also when I was on bedrest briefly. But we also use that time to do other things like puzzles, reading, etc... I think of those things as tools & "Helpers"...if you don't overuse them they are an excellent distraction tool for when you HAVE to do something else...or on days when you are under the weather you can get them (hopefully) to watch a couple movies in bed with you & rest. I think if we lived some place with a better climate - we might never use any of it. Jonah prefers the outdoors to just about everything - but between rain & snow that isn't always possible. So on rainy days when we're relaly baord computer games often are a good diversion.
