We're a pretty healthy family as far as getting sick goes, but last winter was BRUTAL. The girls and I were sick from mid-December until February. At least 1 of us was at the Dr. for something just about every week during that 6 week time frame. We all had ear infections, cold, URI's, or something. It was terrible. Is there anything I can do NOW to preempt anything this winter? Is there anything I can do for the girls to keep them healthier? It was really the first time Kaija had truly been sick. I hadn't been sick like that in probably 10 years.

Change the air filters in your home more often than usual, clean hard surfaces (especially things like door knobs, phones, and toilet handles) with a bleach solution, and use something like Oust in the air. If you're able, it's also a good idea to have the carpets, drapes, and furniture steam cleaned at some point during the flu season.

I understand where you're coming from. Some are just more likely to get sick than others.
