I had a vaginal delivery on Sept 6th, 2006. I was induced a week early. I am considered high risk, and Sabrina was being watched by both the OB and the Maternal Fetal Specialist bc they thought she had some kidney trouble. So since she measured a good size, they went ahead and induced me. They were anticipating having to do surgery on her. Well, I was admitted at 5:30am, pitocin was administered at 7:52am. My water was broken at 9am and I was immediately given an epidural. My blood pressure kept going very very low so I had to be repeatedly given meds to raise it. At 4:39pm I was told I was 9 1/2 cm and to do a test push. Now, I warned everyone that I was a REALLY good pusher. They found out bc I pushed for a count of 15 instead of 10 and the nurse was freaking out bc Sabrina's head was RIGHT THERE. So I wasn't allowed to push anymore. They called my dr, who was still seeing patients in her office, and told her to get right over bc I was literally 2 minutes from delivering. I had to wait through 10 contractions with the nurses telling me not to push. That was AGONY. My body was pushing Sabrina out on it's own little by little and they were nervous they would have to deliver her without the dr. Well, my dr FINALLY arrived and had enough time to put on her gown and gloves. She said "ok, PUSH". 3 pushes later, Sabrina Lynne was born. The cord was wrapped twice around her neck. She was 7 pounds, 10 ounces, 19 1/2 inches long. And after 4 different u/s on her kidney, it was found to be perfect and no surgery was needed.
