Here is Lily's birth story.

On June 6th I went to my doctor at 40w5d pregnant. He decided to induce that night at midnight. We went out to dinner one last time and finished packing and then headed down to the hospital at 11:45pm. The Winnie Palmer Women and Babies hospital just opened last week and it was like checking into an upscale hotel lol. Anyway, we got set u in a delviry room and by 2:00am they started pitocin and checked to see where I was at. My poor hand got battered by the EMT trainee who was using me for practice on starting IV's, but oh well. I was 90% effaced and 2m so they started a really low dose of pitocin and said to try and sleep. By 4am he contractions were still 10 min apart but were midly annoying. They gave me stadol to sleep which helped for a couple of hours until it wore off and I started to throw up. I was checked again at 8:30m and was only 3cm. I had an epidural at this point and went to sleep. Around 10:30am they woke me up to check me and found out that it was almost time to start pushing. They never gave me very much pitocin at all and they turned it off completely at this point. At around 11:45am we tried out a test ush with the nurse. I couldnt feel anything but she just told me when the contraction was and said to push like you are trying for a BM. After one contraction she declared that we needed the doctor now. I pushed through one more contraction before the doctor got there and her heartrate dropped pretty low. He said "ok lets deliver her now" I pushed through two more contractions, pushed without a contraction once and he used the vaccum for the last bit. Turns out the cord was wrapped around her neck causing the drop in heartrate. She was delivered at 12:03pm after 10-15 minutes tops of pushing. I had third degree tears along with an episiotomy...it all happened so fast that I never knew what was happening. The nurse and doctor just kept saying that they couldnt believe how fast I delivered her for a first time mom being induced. With the epidual I never felt any pain at all through the entire labor an delivery. Im fairly sore now but thats to be expected. She weighed 6lbs 13oz, 20.5 inches and scored 9's on her apgar. We get to go home tomorrow after the second pediatrician clears her. I am so happy to finally have my baby and Dh is doing great with her.

That's so great that you had a quick and easy delivery, except for the tears.

How great that everything went so well, minus the tears.

Depending on where the tears are, they should heal pretty quick...the episiotomy will be the hard one to deal with, vaginal tears I have learned are pretty easy, mine only bothered me the first week.

Solarcaine spray is your friend, and sitz baths. They really help alot.

Get some rest Mommy, and we look forward to pics.

Sounds like an easy one minus the tears! So great that you got to sleep early on too.

I remember anticipating the last "May" baby!! Sweet, sweet Lily!

Wow...I can't believe I typed this a year ago in the hospital. There is so much truth in "enjoy them while they are young, they grow up so fast"
