I went in to the hospital at 7 on Monday morning (sept 11th), it took about an hour to get all the paper work done and get everything started. At about 8 they started my Pitocin and they checked me and I was still at a 3 and 90% effaced. The contractions really started to pick up about 2 hours after they started the piticion and my doctor kept telling me "dont' wait to long for the epidural" so I got my epidural put in around 11 and then my midwife came in around 12 and broke my water- at that point I was right around a 5 and fully effaced. At about 2 the epidural started to wear off, I could only feel it in my legs and when they checked me I couldn't really feel it too much but the contractions started to get so strong!! I kept telling them that I was in pain and could feel everything so they re-dosed my epidural and I was still in pain and it just got worse and worse and I literally was just crying my eyes out . After that I dont remember much all I know is the epidural did not work and I felt it all except my legs. I had wonderful coaches though, my mother in law rubbed my legs , my mom held my hand and Max rubbed my head and they were all so supportive and by my side the whole time telling me i was doing great . I could not have done it without them!! At around 6 they checked me and told me I was complete and it was time to push, they gave me a mirror so i could see what I was doing and that was really cool. It felt so good to push through the contractions because at least I knew he was on his way soon. I pushed and pushed and pushed and his shoulders hurt so bad becuase they were basically stuck down there for 2 hours, i started throwing up about half way through pushing and that was NOT FUN! I Puked on Max's hand - ha! Max was so sweet because I kept asking him what time it was because I wanted to know how long I had been pushing and each time he lied to me because he said he didn't want me to get discouraged. FINALLY at aroun 7:40 he was right their and I was determined to get him out with that push and sure enough out he came at 7:45...I didn't get to hold him right away because he wasn't breathing when he came out so they had to rush him over and give him so air. Once he got air he was fine and peed 2 times all over everyone around his bed Thats my boy!! When I heard him cry it was such an overwhelming feeling and when I saw him for the first time it was so instant at how much I loved him. It was very painful but totally worth it and I would do it all again because he is a true Miracle. I can't believe he is finally here . He weighed 7pounds 10 ounces and was 20.25 inches long.

GREAT JOB, Mommy!!!! I'm so proud of you! You and Max are gonna love being parents. It gets better every day. If that even seems possible. And, of course, he is super handsome! Baby Norra is gonna have a fine lookin' boyfriend someday!
