So I posted awhile back about starting fruits, well with the bananas Carter started to get a diaper rash so we stopped it went away. We waited a week and I thought we'd start pears because on the back of the baby food it says that bananas contain citric acid and I read that some baby's are just sensitve to that stuff. Anyways the pears only had absorbic acid. He didn't have any other signs of a reaction, but a yesterday that darn rash came back?? For you moms feeding fruits, does your LO get a diaper rash? Is this normal or a reaction to the fruit? His rash isn't on his bottom it's more around where he urinates, which leads me to believe that it's from the acid in the fruits? I'm going to hold off again with the fruits and I guess substitute it for veggies in the morning (because now he wants some other food in the morning besides his oatmeal).

I posted about this a few weeks ago; at first I thought it was squash causing the rash, but it seems like it does it every now and again with other foods. I guess it's normal. I never had to us ointment on Eden until I started feedind her baby food.

Sounds like we're having the same problem. I've concluded that it's just her body getting used to new ingredients . . .

Thank you Julka for my siggy!

My doc said to maybe go easy on bananas for awhile bc they're more likely to cause an atypical skin rash -- okay, not exactly sure what "atypical" means, but Cade has really sensitive skin and we can't use anything that is scented on him or he breaks out... he's a sensitive boy. I've just started giving him bananas again, just once or twice a week... he was starting to break out yesterday but now I'm not sure if it's the bananas or him getting hot (we went to the park)... Maybe skip out on bananas for awhile... a month or so, then try them again. Hope the rash clears up!

why do the bananas have citric acid in them? And asboric acid? Have you tried any organic baby food? They usually only have the fruit and some water in it. Though I haven't look ed at the banana ingredients. Or with bananas it is super easy to do your own. Just mash them up and add some formula/BM
