I'll be 4 weeks pp on Wednesday and my 2nd degree tear stitches are still there. When do these things dissolve?

Usually 4-6 weeks. It depends and varies from woman to woman though. I know someone that still had her stitches 16 weeks after delivery! Yeah, something def not right there but then again that is uncommon. It also depends on how bad the tear was, how many stitches you have etc etc. I am sure you will be healed in no time.

I noticed with my first they lasted longer, but I had quite a few. This time I only had one and it went away right away. My midwife told me to expect between 4 - 6 weeks.

My stitches are internal and one came out today - 9 days later. There are many more to go, but it was a promising sign.
