I think I remember you replying to one of my old threads when Didi was teething and super fussy and I had posted that I had managed to make a sling type wrap for her when she was like 8 months old...

I think you had mentioned that you made a bunch of wraps for your babies. What material did you use for them (I had jersey knit when I made that qiuck one, but something else might be better) and how long and wide did you consider ideal? Anyone else have any ideas here, feel free to post! Like I said, I'll be keeping my eyes open for some things we know we'd like to have for our next baby and buy more things ahead of time so we'll have less expenses when the baby arrives. I figure if I make them myself they'll be way cheaper and I can buy whatever colors I like. I know I'm not even preggo yet, but I'm off for another week so I have time to talk about it and think about it these days, so why not ask now since I have the time, lol!
Thank you Jaydinsmum for my amazing siggy!

I know I'm not Beth but...

Jersey is the best option because it's stretchy but you can use other fabrics that have a little give in them. You're fairly tall right? You'll want at least 5.5 yards and since fabric is either 45 or 60 inches wide you can actually get 2 out of it if you cut it in half length-wise. Jersey is good because you don't need to sew it at all. Most other fabrics you'll need to hem or finish the edges somehow so it doesn't fray.

ditto Mylene. I prefer Jersey since it's no sew. I'd get at least 5.5 yards, but all the way to 7 yards (I can't remember your body type) because it will shrink over time.

Mine is 6 yards and I love it. I'm a tall girl and average to heavy build. I dont' remember the exact fabric, but it isn't straight jersey, as I thought that would get too warm. If I remember, I'll let you know. Oh, and mine is 22-23 inches wide.
