I sat down and peed and didn't feel anything come out except pee. When i got up and was about to flush, I happened to glance in the toilet for some reason and there it was, floating there. It was white-ish, and thick looking and I'd say a bit bigger around than a quarter.

At least I think that's what it was. I asked DH if he had spit in the toilet last time he used it but he didn't really remember if he did or didn't.

Would the mucus plug float like that? Or was it really just his spit? lol If, on the off chance it really was my mucus plug, should I call my OB?

Sounds pretty promising! Losing your mucus plug doesn't necessarily mean that labor's right around the corner - it could be weeks. I've read that your mucus plug can actually regenerate, so theoretically you could lose it a few times. But it's a good sign that things are progressing!

^^ I completely agree with Lynley. My friend lost hers at 38 weeks at my house and went another 11 days to three days before her due date. Still an encouraging sign that things are changing! If you have any bloody show though, you might call just to let your doctor know.

How big should the mucus plug be if the whole thing were to randomly fall out and not just bits and pieces? Just curious. I doubt this little glob of stuff was big enough to be the whole thing, but I guess my OB will tell me tomorrow.
