Is there anything you can do to keep your LO from biting while they nurse? Natalie bit me this morning and it was awful. Later tonight she was chomping away on her sippy cup and I was scared to let her nurse. I swear she was thinking she was going to get me again when she had the chance.

Annette, sorry but the thought of Natalie giving you the stare down and "I'm gonna get you next time" look just made me laugh.

I really don't have any advice though. I think Logan is getting ready to wean. Lately when he nurses he pops on and off so much. Everytime he pops off he tries to take my nipple with him. It ends up just hurting. We're starting giving him milk bottles throughout the day. I really only nurse him twice during the day and twice at night. I was hoping to just skip bottles but they seem to make him happy. Maybe it's just a phase Natalie is going through. I hope it stops for you.

Anthony has only bitten me a couple times and it was always when he was frustrated and wanted something (not me lol)

kdmommie - is that a sign they are ready to wean? Anthony ALWAYS pops on and off me whenever I nurse him (only at night now, before bed)
he goes back and forth between me and pacifier for about 10-15min.Do you think it will stop soon? I'm tired of nursing him back to sleep whenever he wakes

ok so yesterday and then again this morning,Anthony has been biting me too!
and once he knows it triggered a reaction from me,he laughs and does it even more.I try not to say anything and pry my nipple out of his mouth.I'm so scared and tense now whenever he nurses! and when I refused,he just screamed.
He's okay when hes super tired..
I don't know what to do.I don't think saying "no bite" will help.He loves to do things that he isn't suppose to do

Ruby bites me all the time. it's not as bad lately. As soon as her top teeth came in it was ALL THE TIME, and it hurts! I say NO BITING really sternly (and I never have to get stern with her so my tone is very different). Usually now she doesn't bite down very hard. I love nursing but I can't keep it up if it's going to be so painful! Between that and her pulling back on my nipples I will be surprised if I have any feeling left in them!

Natalie has been cutting teeth like crazy the last couple weeks so I don't know if that's where this is coming from. She bit me again Saturday morning. I told her no biting and she started bawling hysterically. I got her calmed down and told her that she can't bite mommy because it hurts and she started crying all over again.

I am super nervous with allowing her to nurse anymore. I hate to give it up but I'm not relaxed at all while I'm nursing which is really disrupting things. Weaning may be upon us.
