our families live out of state and part will be here for his actual birthday and part of the family will be here easter weekend.
i decided to make his cake for his birthday and order a cake for easter weekend birthday celebration.
i really want to try to make some cake pops too, but i need to figure out how to ice them. i dont just want to dip them in melted chocolate.

Other than melted chocolate for the cake pops, you can use candy coating or look up a recipe for pourable fondant.

I made E's smash cake and we did cupcakes for the party (homemade also).

thanks for the tip. i'm going to look into the pourable fondant. i live at high altitude, so i need to make sure i get it right.
i was looking at a royal icing recipe and since it has meringue i'll have to do a practice run because i have found conflicting information about how far to take the peaks before adding the sugar at high altitude.

I'm not sure yet. I think my dads wife wants to make a cake, and I want to make some cupcakes, so we'll probably go with that.

Can't wait to meet our new baby GIRL!
