I think the rule used to be not before 2, but I know I haven't followed that rule with any of my kids... I don't think that is the rule now... if your family doesn't have a history I think it's ok to try... (ask your ped if your unsure)... I'm sure Emma will have it after 1 or so...

I thought it was 1 but honestly I have no idea. I let Jordana try a little off of my finger a couple of months ago and she did fine. I think I ended up give her a little bit on a jelly sandwich last month.

I am waiting til Dax is 2 for sure. I have a cousin (adopted) who's son had it at 11 months and then again at 12 months and is now severely allergic. Also, one of my best friends gave it to her son at 12 months and then again at 13 months and he is now severely allergic too. I am waiting to be sure. It is so scary to watch how careful they need to be wherever they go. When they fly, the airplane needs to be cleaned, and a peanut free buffer zone is set up around them. It's crazy. I don't get why so many kids are having issues with nuts these days, but if I can reduce my baby's chance of getting an allergy by introducing it later, I will.

I will be waiting until after 2 years to give any to Lily. It doesn't run in the family, only one cousin has the peanut allergy and she first had peanuts and had a reaction at younger than 2, don't remember her exact age.
Mom to a 2 year old baby girl, 2 week old baby boy, and one in Heaven.

In loving memory of our angel baby, with us for 4 weeks. Baby went to be with God July 24th, 2009.
