How often do you let your LO watch TV / movies?
Do you have a tv going all the time in your house?

The TV is pretty much on all day long. A mix of shows I like and cartoons, usually Sprout. He only really pays attention to Caillou. He will watch Thomas too, but he craps his pants for Caillou.

I leave the TV on most of the time. He gets really excited about Thomas, but loses interest quick. He isn't really a tv or movie kid yet.

Thank you Vicki for my new siggy!

There are days where we don't have the TV on at all with E, and days where he may watch it for 30-60 minutes. We usually watch Mickey Mouse Clubhouse (I have lots of episodes saved in my DVR!). We used to watch Sprout more often (he LOVED Nina and Star!) but the commercials were soooo annoying, so we stopped for the most part.

I think if I was home all day with E, he would be watching TV more often. But he's at day care during the day (and they have no TVs there), so we only have to entertain him for a few hours in the evenings.

I leave the TV on during the day because she is not really into it unless it's Mickey or Sofia on. She is yet to sit still and watch a movie from start to end :-)

I leave netflix on stuff like the leapfrog shows most the time we are home. She'll alternate between watching and playing.

Thanks to Bokkechick for my siggy.

The TV is on a lot, pretty much always PBS. It goes off during school time (we do learning activities all summer) reading time, and for meal times.

Thanks to the awesome Rachel for my siggy!

We actually don't have TV but will watch dvds. Kynslee will watch her short 30 minute singing dvd's from start to finish but nothing else really. since we don't have something on all the time she actually looks forward to when we left her watch a dvd and will stay and watch long. I only let her watch something 1-2 times per week. DH and I will watch things at least once a day usually so she see's that but not usually too interested.

Yes, unfortunately, this is a bad habit that we have. The TV is on most of the day when we are home. It's just such an easy thing for me to turn to -- an automatic fight-breaker when the kids are screaming at each other (which is often). Also, if Beau falls down and gets hurt and starts crying, if my normal distractions and kisses don't solve the problem for him, turning on the TV will usually do the trick.

Beau doesn't really get to choose what we watch -- he watches whatever his older brother wants to watch. Lately, that's Magic School Bus. We have the DVD's, and Charlie is obsessed with them. We watch the same episodes over and over again.

Beau will get up in the morning, then first thing after breakfast say "Bool Us!" and go sit on the couch like he expects me to turn it on for him! I think that's a very bad sign.

Thank you to the SSMC makers for my beautiful siggies!
