I took all of the things that need to be done around here just to keep the house 'good enough' - you know, not embarrassing if someone stops by. Added in homeschooling and our regular errands. And day one has just KICKED. MY. BUTT.

How do you ladies do it? Especially if you have little kids in the house? I'll share mine so you can see, it shouldn't be that hard...but doing it all around caring for a three-month-old. Sheesh.

EVERY DAY
Homeschool
Dishes
Kitchen surfaces
Sweep kitchen

MONDAY
Laundry - whites/lights
Pick up living room
Vacuum downstairs

TUESDAY
Laundry - darks
Bathrooms
(Rachael - dance)

WEDNESDAY
Laundry - Amelia's
Mop
Bedrooms
Vacuum upstairs
(Story time @ library)

THURSDAY
Laundry - towels
Vacuum downstairs
Clean out fridge
Make grocery list
(Playgroup)

FRIDAY
Pick up living room
Dust
(Grocery shopping)
(Other errands)

SATURDAY
Laundry - DH's work clothes
Mop

SUNDAY
(Church)

It doesn't LOOK like all that much, so WHY was it so hard to knock out everything on my list today? I'm really hoping it was just because the counters and living room were cluttered and took a while to de-junk, and that it'll get easier...but I just feel so overwhelmed, and NEED to stay on top of these things.

You're probably right...it may take a little more at first, but after you get some of the decluttering done, it won't take nearly as long. Great list, BTW!

I am in that situation right now too, my whole house is a disaster and I am just doing a little bit every day. So, every day a 10 minute tidy in the family room/dining room. After two days of this...well, it is still kind of a mess especially since my family keeps insisting upon coming come and continuing to use these rooms, but I am making progress. It might take you a few weeks to really get your house how you want it, but just keep at it and you will get there!

I totally agree. It took me awhile to dig out from under the mess when I started, but once it's clean it is so much easier to keep up on. My old living room would have been an all day job to clean up. My 'Mandi Keeps Up On Her Chores' living room takes literally 5 minutes to clean if need be. Once everything has a home, it's so so so so so much easier.

Thanks, ladies. I'll admit, I was almost hoping to come back and see "girl, you're trying to do much with a little baby around" but yours were definitely the answers I NEEDED to hear! Off to scrub those bathrooms while Milly is napping...
