Hi ladies! I lurk here on a regular basis and introduced myself in the sticky.

Anyway, I am 10 weeks pregnant and still haven't told my best friend. We are planning on her being one of my labor coaches and I want to make a card for her. I would like for the card to serve two purposes: one to tell her we are expecting and the other one asking her to help as a labor coach. I want something catchy for the outside and inside and have tried to google some, but not having much luck. Do you ladies have any suggestions for what it should say? Any help is most appreciated!

Awe! She is going to be so excited.

When we were pregnant with Hope it was a complete suprise. As far as our family knew, we were officially done with any family ad on's unless they came in the furry barking number. So to set up the suprise to tell the family we actually did it through scrapbooking.

I had started a scrapbook (12x12 page) for Paul's mom. So at the begining I did a family page, then one of each of the boys, then for the new baby I did a black silouette of a baby. From like the chest up, then I had a little info off to the side introducing the newest member of our family around September 29th, Owen Paul or Hope Ellemae (we had already picked out the names)..it took her a bit to get it, but she finally did.

But for the coaching part. I'll have to think about that. It is awesome that you have kept it a secret for as long as you have. I am horrible at keeping secrets. It's like keep Chanda off the highest mountain because she's bound to splurge the good news.

The blinky is clickable!!

Maybe on the outside just put a small picture of your pregnancy test, a pregnant belly, or a baby that let's her know you're expecting. Then the outside could say

"It's gonna be a wild ride..."
and on the inside
"Promise you'll be by my side!"

Good luck and make sure to post the finished product!

Thanks, ladies! These are some great ideas. I have decided to two cards for my friend because I can't pick just one.

For the first one: the cover will say "Mark your calendars for April, May or June" (my DS was 6 weeks early and I am due early June) with small calendars drawn on it. The inside will say "Because two little feet will be joining us soon." I will probably do a stamp on the inside with baby footprints in green or yellow.

The second one: I'm going to use Baby Britches idea, love it!! On the outside, I will put "It's gonna be a wild ride..." with maybe a wave to car to signify a wild ride. And then on the inside, I will put "Promise me you'll be by my side." Then on the inside I will put a pic of my 7 week U/S.
