I've made Christmas cards for years, but this year was thinking of making some photo ones with a pic of our LO or maybe a family pic with him to send out. I cheated with the birth announcements and did digital ones, so really really want to make my Christmas ones.

Who all has done this? Who is planning on doing this? Any suggestions for me? I need some easy ideas that won't be too time consuming to put together since I do work full time and don't have that much time to work on them.

What if you just made the cards like you normally would, but left room for the picture and used photo corners, or maybe a ribbon frame?

How would you do a ribbon frame? And do you know if any cricut carts make the photo corners? (I know I'm being real lazy here. )

The first year I scrapbooked 60 cards. I used a real picture of Brooke on the front of the card and used the photo squares to hold it down so people could take it of if they wanted to. Taht way no one complained about not gettinga photo of her! LOL

Last year I made the cards using Microsoft Publisher....I had several pictures of the girls on the card...it was just easier for me..with two little ones at home I don't have the time to make 60 Christmas cards anymore. I make cards only for my scrappy friends.

I've always wanted to do this but never end up with the time and end up ordering our cards so I have no advice - But I can't wait to see what you come up with! I'm really hoping next year I can actually do this as I've wanted to all this time!

Thank ladies for the suggestions. I hope to have some playing time this weekend and will play around. and of course will post what I've come up with for more suggestions.

If I use photo corners, does anyone know if any cricut carts makes them or if there's an easy way to make them ourselves? I've got some plain ones from JoAnn's but if I could make some in different colors or pattern paper to match my card it may look better.

Are your plain ones black or white? if they were white you could just ink them or chalk them to whatever color you want.

They're black. I could probably find some white ones, that's a great suggestion of inking or chalking them. Thanks!!

What I meant by the frame- Just non-fraying ribbon (to match your card) on all 4 sides of your picture, I think the ribbon corners touching or overlapping would look great.

I haven't seen photo corners on a cart, but that doesn't mean they don't exist

I see what you mean now with the ribbon. That sounds really nice. I can't wait to have some time this weekend to play around.

the storybook cartridge makes some really pretty photo corners, or you can but the clear stick on ones

I have that cart, and never noticed the photo corners, but then again I wasn't looking for them. I'll check that out tonight. And where have you seen clear photo corners? I've only seen black or white at the stores.

Hi! I'm a lurker kinda new to the scrapbooking ( I mainly do cards ) and all the tools and stuff. My name is Michelle ( I'm active in the March 09 PR but my DS was born in February lol )

I know martha stewart has like glittery photo corners and I saw at micheals that eek has like a little corner punches. they aren't very big but I believe thats what they are.

I made 60 cards with photos last year. I think I just used removable adhesive. They took forever to make and I was drained by the end. The more special people got the handmade and everyone else got the photo cards.

Thanks, Michelle for the suggestion! I'll check out those items when I'm out next time at Michaels. And feel free to stick around with us, many of us make cards too.

Amanda - do you have any pics of your photo cards you made? Your pages have inspired me many times, so I'm sure your cards will to.

I did a couple for the November challenges last year. Here are a couple. I don't love them by any means, lol.

Silly flash

And here are two sympathy cards. Love the first one!

Not so thrilled about this one.
