Why do you scrapbook?

At first it was just for fun but over the years it's grown into my desire to tell the story of my life. Unexciting as it is, someday someone will be interested. Which is why I've been trying to do more & more journaling. Of course, it's still fun and keeps me busy, and keeps my mind going in a way.

I scrap "to relax" after having a long day with my kids. I also want my kids to be able to look back at their childhoods and read the stories.

I love telling a story. I started by scrapping my wedding album, and then started my Greece vacations. From there, it's just gone to scrapping anything/everything. I also find it relaxing and love being creative.

you know i never really knew why, i mean i liked it, but didn't really start for myself. My first album was one i made for my parents when i was 18. it was mostly pictures cut into shapes with decorative scissors, and lots of stickers. then i scrapped because i really likes it, i scrapped our wedding and did a small album about our move to Calgary. Then i had Ryland and everything changed, i started scraping because it made me smile, it made me remember things i might have forgotten, i love the emotions the memories bring. Lastly i scrap because i want my children to remember what they are to young to remember now. Hopefully they will love the albums when they are older as much as they do now

I did my wedding scrapbook because I didn't want to pay $1000 for an album on top of the $1000 the photographer charged for his time and pics. I couldn't see spending so much on an album that just gets put up on a shelf to collect dust. I watched friends of mine spend so much money on dust collectors. I did a couple gift albums after that. Now I more scrap to add some flair to plain pictures and give my kids something for when they are older.

I have to de-stress and let out my frustrations after a couple of hours watching over the kids

I agree it is definitely a good de-stresser most of the time...altho i can get pretty frustrated with myself over a layout from time to time!

I also started to tell my story, and yes, that's still a major factor. I think right now it's so that I can hold on to my children being small. They're growing so fast and sometimes it makes me sad at how fast it's going, but I'm taking pictures all the time so that I can scrap it and then go back and "relive" their bittyness (if that makes sense)

Scrapping for me is something I like to do, create, calming, fun. I enjoy telling our story and sharing our photos and memories. What Brittanie posted about keeping the kids little and remembering them when they were definitely rings true to me as well... I can't believe Caden is going to be 4 in 2 months (and Parker will be 1!). Sometimes I sit down to scrap and get caught up in looking at the photos.
