Hi ladies!

My name is Heather and I'm 24. My husband and I are expecting our first baby, a daughter, in February. At my baby shower last week I received a bunch of scrapbooking supplies and plan to scrapbook my pregnancy.

Can anyone tell me if Crayola markers and colored pencils are safe to use when scrapbooking? I can't seem to find a definitive answer online and am worried that the acidity of these products may cause my pages to deteriorate. If they are unsafe, would an acid neutralizing spray counteract their effects?

Thanks so much.

and congrats on your pregnancy!! I'm Becky, mommy to Mark (6 months). I typically check the backs of the boxes to see if they are acid free and then just use those for my journaling, doodling, etc. I have used a coloring page that was colored for me once in my wedding album and I used the neutralizing spray on it and made sure it wasn't touching any pictures.

I look forward to getting to know you.

Thanks Jaidynsmum for another perfect siggy!!

I don't actually know. I don't like using crayons, though, because sometimes the wax flakes off the page after a while. I guess if you colored really lightly it would be okay, but I think that pencils are just all around better.

No idea on the acidity though.
